Adding solar panels to your home is another way to add a ton of value to your home. These are an especially good option for homes in sunny areas that get lots of light throughout the year. For many younger buyers, the prospect of conserving energy and being more eco-friendly is a huge plus.

In addition to reducing energy costs every month, you often do not have to pay sales tax on solar panels, saving you thousands of dollars. And in a lot of states, solar panel installation costs can count as a tax credit, saving you even more money.

If you have a decent size backyard, adding a deck or patio can increase the value of your home by making your backyard more versatile. Additionally, decks and patios can be incredibly customizable to your particular home’s shape and size. Depending on what you want to use the space for, you may need to alter your design.
If you simply want to have potted plants and some outdoor seating or a little reading nook, your space might be smaller. But if you’re hoping to use the space to entertain larger numbers or have a grill, you’ll need to figure out a design that maximizes the area.
Cleaning up your backyard and making it a really enjoyable space becomes that much more of a priority in the summertime. Make sure to take your time to figure out the best strategy for you though. You want to find the perfect balance between doing home improvements that you’ll love and home improvements that will add value to your home.
